Someone to Keep An Eye On: Alex Kukurugya

Alex didn't seem interested in sports when he was younger. Never even watched a football game on TV. In his very first wrestling match ever, in the 6th grade, he lost by a pin so his career didn't exactly have a rousing start. I don't remember what his records was in the 7th grade, but he was selected BF wrestler of the year. His size began to sprout.

He is now 6'3" and 205 pounds. In the 8th grade his record was 18-0 with 3 forfeitures and 15 pins. In 2 of his matches he wrestled against opponents in the next higher weight class and pinned them. He won the 210# conference championship. His coach recommended that he join club wrestling in the off-season to improve his techniques.

He started playing football in the 7th grade, playing both offensive and defensive tackle. He was selected BF defensive lineman of the year. In the 8th grade he was selected BF offensive lineman of the year. He blocked a punt in the game against Thomas Jefferson this year.

Alex is also a very good student. At Northview, he was on the Science Bowl team that won the state championship. He is currently a B to B+ student.
