South Shore Orchestra String Quartet to Perform at Anniversary Celebration

SSO-Old-World-Market-1Join members of the South Shore Orchestra String Quartet on Saturday, July 16, 2011, in their performance of a program honoring both Old and New World Music to celebrate Old World Market’s Anniversary. Concertmasters Kamen Vatchev and Carrie Carlson, on violin, with Tami Guz, viola and Jennifer Zeigner, cello will perform in front of Old World Market in Valparaiso from 1-2 PM. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to sit and enjoy the music, while possibly sampling delectable wines, cheeses, and breads from the ever popular establishment that has made an impact on the gourmet food and wine offerings in Valparaiso for over ten years.

South Shore Orchestra includes as part of its mission a desire to work with local community groups to broaden the exchange of culture through music and provides ensembles such as the SSO String Quartet, to give something back to the community.  SSO has performed for Old World Market's anniversary celebration for several summers to show their appreciation for being such terrific sponsors of South Shore Orchestra's goals "to orchestrate a musical community."

SSO-Old-World-Market-2Old World Market’s owners Dee and John Kowalski share their history and and intent to blend their individual talents and passion for fine food together “in a showcase of the World's finest cheeses, wines, charcuturie, teas, chocolates and other gourmet food products for those with discriminating palettes.” Their success is enhanced by their outlook that “This is the place where sampling is not only permitted, but encouraged!” The celebration begins at 11 AM and continues through the day unitl 5 PM.
