After their opening at the beginning of the summer to kick off Memorial Day Weekend, Sunset Grille has been wowing their customers left and right. Just steps from the beach, the restaurant has placed themselves in a perfect position for plenty of attention. From their spectacular lake views to the incredible variety of food and drinks, this is truly the place to be this summer for both adults and kids!
Located along the Washington Park Beach in Michigan City, Sunset Grille will be enhancing their service with a new bar offering great beer, wine, and cocktails. In addition to an exclusive wine selection from Shady Creek Winery, the grill will be adding even more specialty drinks to their menu. They have already showcased a variety of new wine and beer specialties during their Sunset Social Hour events. The Devil’s Trumpet, 10-56 Brewing, and Zorn Brew Works are a few of the businesses they have featured this summer!
Drinks are not their only concentration. The restaurant often showcases appetizing food specials such as Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Ahi Tuna Wrap, Cowboy Burger, and to top it all off, Mama’s Homemade Brownies!
Sunset Grille is working to bring new and exciting menu items and attractions to keep the restaurant busy and fun. They have a special place in their hearts for locals, and are always sure to maintain their upscale atmosphere and fine dining. Live music on the rooftop is particularly enjoyable, allowing them to entertain, serve, and wow with sunset views all at the same time.
Since its opening, managers Julie Krause and Phil Gushrowski have used their expertise and leadership to guarantee that everyone feels comfortable at Sunset Grille. The restaurant has received tons of positive feedback from the public who have thoroughly enjoyed the company and atmosphere that the restaurant brings.
“Julie and Phil are detail-focused, and they’re good with their staff,” said Meghan Johnson, Marketing and Communications Director of both Patrick’s and Sunset Grille. “The way our food is going to be presented is going to be different. It’s going to be a little more attentive. It’s going to be a lot better one-on-one time with customers.”

Sunset Grille is open seven days a week. The concession stand is open from 11:00am to 8:00pm on a daily basis, and the rooftop is open from 4:00pm to 10:00pm on weekdays and 11:00pm on the weekend. With both indoor and outdoor seating, Sunset Grille is a versatile space that can appeal to those who want to relax inside or stay in the sun to feel the breeze off Lake Michigan!
