As The Lakes of Valparaiso continues to welcome more and more residents with the finishing of each new building, the growth creates opportunities for these new people to meet with one another and get to know the community of which they’ve become apart.
The sense of community that is growing at The Lakes has really been helped on by the organizing of events and celebrations that the staff at The Lakes has taken on over the last several months.
“We’ve already started hosting events and we typically have between two to four events every month,” said Angela Fielder, Vice President of Real Estate Operations for Weiss Entities. “Some of the events are smaller. For example, for the 4th of July we had residents in here for pizza.”
When school was starting up The Lakes held a School Supply Drive and around the same time they hosted an ‘End of Summer Pool Party’ as well as ‘Movie Night on the Lawn’ to celebrate the final days of summer with residents.
“We’ve had Root Beer Float Fridays which gives people the chance to come in and have a root beer float, and get to know one another,” Fielder commented. “We’ve also had ‘Game Night’ on a few different nights.”
More recently, to celebrate Halloween and everyone’s four-legged friends, The Lakes held a ‘Yappy Hour’ in which residents were encouraged to bring their costumed K-9’s in for yappitizers, pumpkin puppuccinos and prizes for the pet with the best costume.
Also in October, The Lakes of Valparaiso held a Fall Shopping Spree in which residents and the public were encouraged to bring their friends and stop by The Lakes for free food, prizes and shopping fun. Vendors at the event included LuLaRue Clothing, Thirty-One and Rodan + Fields. If you missed the first Shopping Spree at The Lakes not to worry as they will be holding another in December.
These events are bringing residents of The Lakes together to create a sense of community that makes living at The Lakes of Valparaiso far more special than your average apartment community. The Lakes provide resort-style living right here in Valparaiso and now, with more and more people moving in, the feeling of a community is really setting in.
