The Larry Neff Center for Career Connections – Griffith January Events 2022

Visit us this January at The Larry Neff Center for Career Connections and gain some new skills in the New Year. We will be ringing in the New Year with a workshop to help you improve your interviewing skills, a workshop to introduce you to the online networking platform LinkedIn, in addition to the digital literacy training we offer year-round. Whether one of your resolutions is to learn more about the digital world, or you want to prevail at your next interview, we welcome you to come in. Don’t let another year pass you by without learning new and essential skills.

Every month we offer North Star Digital Literacy Training and Indeed Assessments to be scheduled at your convenience. Our staff will conduct an intake and assess your strengths and interests, to develop a digital and career training path that is unique to you.

With the Larry Neff Center for Career Connection’s staff assistance, you are sure to gain competitive digital training and a marketable career pathway. The series of assessments available may be completed in increments and upon training and completion, certificates will be awarded.

We want to ensure that our services are safe for everyone.

Becoming LinkedIn
- Tuesday, January 11th / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Would you like a space to gather with likeminded professionals where you will get the opportunity to talk to one another, share accomplishments, and meet new contacts? LinkedIn is a social media platform that allows you to connect with friends, past and present colleagues and bosses, post your resume to allow recruiters to find you, find jobs that are hiring, and many other things. This is a very useful tool for anyone looking for a job, looking to move up in their company, or just looking to network online.

Interviewing 101
- Tuesday, January 25th / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Does the idea of being “interrogated” by a potential new employer make you nervous? If it does, you’re not alone. The idea of an interview can cause many to begin sweating, even in this weather! But with the right preparation and a little practice, you can interview like a pro. In this workshop we review what to do, what not to do, how to prepare, common questions that come up, and more. We will even give you time to practice one-on-one interviews.

All Center for Career Connections Events are free and open to the public.
