Simone Courtright, a graduate of Highland High School, was awarded the Dr. Mary Steele-Agee Award. This scholarship is awarded to a graduate who must have a "disability" that requires accommodations while in high school. Simone will receive a $1,000 scholarship that will be applied toward her tuition to the college or university of her choice.
Simone says that, "The Mary Steele-Agee award has provided me with funding to advance my education. However, the scholarship has gone way beyond just funding my education. It has provided me with a new group of mentors, known as the Mary Steele-Agee committee members. I sincerely look forward to getting to know these caring individuals! And, although I am not entirely sure on what major I am going to pursue, I am happy to say I have more people to support and encourage me."
