Todd Scheub: People’s Bank President & LCEA Board Member

Lake County IN Economic Alliance (LCEA) board member and investor, Todd Scheub, started in the banking industry as a commercial loan officer in 1996 when People’s Bank had about $300 million in assets. After many years of hard work and long hours, Scheub provided opportunities to advance People’s Bank leading to him being named as People’s Banks’ President in 2022.

A Lake county native, Scheub grew up in Lake county, graduated both high school and college in Lake county, and still resides in Lake county. Scheub has spent the majority of his life loving the Region and supporting the community in which he resides. Supporting LCEA, what they stand for, and what they bring to Northwest Indiana made the most logical sense.

Scheub not only enjoys what he does on a daily basis, but he invests in his customers as much as they invest in him.

“Talking to customers about their goals and visions while also being on this journey with them is why I do what I do,” Scheub said. “I get to work alongside some great people that care about the bank, the individuals, and also their families that work with them.”

As People’s Bank President, Scheub has helped provide capital to businesses in both monetary support and volunteerism. The banking market is full of giving individuals that want to make a difference where they and their employees live. LCEA understands that and makes that their purpose.

“LCEA has brought so much positivity and awareness to Northwest Indiana,” Scheub said. “New businesses bring more people and other businesses and LCEA has made that their mission and that’s easy to get behind.”

Not only is Scheub a supporter from a banking standpoint, but also a personal one.

“I am a board member of the LCEA,” Scheub said. I help provide prospects to them to contact as well as rely on LCEA staff to help provide bank customers or prospects information on how they can help make a move to Northwest Indiana affordable and explain the monetary enhancement that can be provided.”

LCEA has changed Lake county for the better and continues to do so every day. Many people don’t always know how/why new businesses come to Lake county and it’s time that they do.

“Large businesses and corporate distribution centers have invested in Northwest Indiana now more than ever before,” Scheub said. “LCEA has helped bring them here. In doing that, these have helped provide jobs that have supported the many land developments, construction projects, and housing that have spurred new businesses to move here and expand.”

LCEA is a powerhouse working everyday to make Lake county a more desirable place to develop, work, and live.
