GIRLS BASKETBALL SECTIONAL Portage VS. Valparaiso 2024

The Lady Vikings had a sectional playoff game this evening against the Portage Indians. Portage put up a fight up till halftime where the Vikings pulled ahead with a commanding lead. The final score was Vikings 48, Indians 20. Valparaiso’s #10 Cadynce Clark and #23 Lillian Barnes both had 11 points each tonight. The Vikings will take on the Crown Point Bulldogs in the sectional championship.

BOYS BASKETBALL SECTIONAL Portage VS. Chesterton 2024

Chesterton prevailed against Portage High School 57-51 in a classic Duneland Athletic Conference (DAC) playoff matchup. Chesterton will advance to the sectional semifinals against Lowell High School on Friday, March 1st at 6PM at Chesterton HS.

BOYS BASEBALL Portage VS. Wheeler 2024

The Portage Indians hosted the Wheeler Bearcats. Sadly the game was stopped early due to rain. The score was 2 to 0 with Portage winning. The game is going to be rescheduled for a later date.

GIRLS SOFTBALL Hobart VS. Portage 2024

The Hobart Brickies hosted the Portage Indians for a non conference varsity softball match up. Both teams put a fight up today. The Brickies pulled out the win to day 19 to 12. Number 26 of Weber of the Brickies had a homer in the 2nd.

BOYS FOOTBALL Portage VS. Merrillville 2024

The Merrillville Pirates traveled to Portage Friday, September 13 to take on the Indians in a conference football game. The Pirates scored first, John Peters number 11 intercepted the ball and ran 98 yards to score a touchdown. Portage would go on to score two touchdowns this evening but that was not enough. Merrillville ended up with 3 interceptions and one fumble recovery this evening. Final score was Merrillville 27, Portage 13.
