Cubs Offseason Moves May Affect Samardzija
When the Cubs recently traded backup shortstop Ronny Cedeno and recently acquired minor league pitcher Garret Olson, one less pitching spot is available on the Cubs’ major league roster. With many of the Cubs’ pitching staff signed to major league deals, that leaves little room for young pitchers to make the major league roster. And this includes Valparaisian Jeff Samardzija.

Team Bennett - A Valpo Pop Warner Mitey Mite Team UNDEFEATED!
A typical day for an 8-year old would seem to be filled with 3rd grade classroom activities, fun on the playground with friends and riding bikes until dark…not for this group of young boys. This is one of Valpo Pop Warner’s five Junior Mitey Mite Teams, known as Team Bennett – who have just completed an undefeated season of football.

Are the Indianapolis Colts on the Road to Perfection?
In the midst of Year Twelve of the Peyton Manning era, it is entirely possible the Colts are having their best season yet. You could even say this season is potentially historic. During the Manning era, the Colts have won double-digit games ten times, ultimately going 130-46 during the regular season. This year, things are looking better than ever. With no real number two in the AFC, the Colts have gone 13-0, locking up everything you can lock up during the regular season with a first round bye and home field advantage for the division and conference championship games. They have three games remaining in the regular season: a Sunday night showdown against a wildcard-hopeful Jacksonville Jaguars, a possible last-ditch effort from the New York Jets the next week, and then their season is finished off with a virtual lay-up win in Buffalo.

The terms of the deal, as being reported by Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune, are such that the Mariners are sending the Cubs Silva and $9M in exchange for Bradley in a move that is reported to save the Cubs $6M.
