Trek the Township Route to Inform Motorists

friends-of-portage-twp-logoRoadway Alert: Motorists are asked to be alert and drive cautiously during the Trek the Township fundraising event scheduled on Saturday, May 18th beginning at 8a. Cyclist will be riding a 20-mile course throughout Portage Township including City and County Roads as well as on the Prairie Duneland Trail in Portage.

 

The ride begins and ends at Haven Hollow Park in South Haven. Roadways and areas affected as well as the route are as follows:

  •  West on 700N to 400W
  • 400W North to Prairie Duneland Trail
  • Prairie Duneland Trail West to Hamstrom Road
  • Hamstrom Road North the Iron Horse Heritage Trail
  • Iron Horse Heritage Trail East to Connector Trail
  • Connector Trail South to Prairie Duneland Trail
  • Prairie Duneland Trail West to Countyline Road
  • Countyline Road South to 700N
  • 700N East to 700W
  • 700W South to 600N
  • 600N East to 400W
  • 400W North to 700N
  • Return to Haven Hollow Park

Olson Park in Portage is the midway point of the course where riders can stop and rest before resuming the course. It is estimated that the ride will take approximately 3 hours. Riders will return to Haven Hollow Park for refreshments and celebration.

Trek the Township is a fundraising event hosted by Friends of Portage Township Foundation Inc. to raise funding for the growth and development of Portage Township Parks.
