Valparaiso AAUW Affiliate recently attended a presentation by Richard Cusick, owner of Evolution Artisan Confections. Members were entertained while learning the story of chocolate from bean to bar. Cusick, who is passionate about chocolate – and food in general – used videos to show the planting, harvesting, shipping, and manufacturing of the world’s finest chocolate.
His profession has taken him from the kitchen of four-star restaurants to consulting with food scientists for large corporations to owning his own specialty shop in his home town of Valparaiso. His wife, Susie, has been by his side along this journey. She now runs their new business of two and half years while Richard creates amazing confections.
