Incoming Kindergarten Students AND Students who are New to the Valparaiso Community School District
New student and Kindergarten registration week of July 27-31: For incoming kindergarten students and students new to the Valparaiso Community Schools for the 2020-21 school year, the enrollment process requires an appointment with school personnel.
Kindergarten: We are asking incoming kindergarten parents to complete the preregistration form prior to making a registration appointment with the school. If you have previously completed the online form, you do not need to complete it again.
New students (grades 1-12): Please refer to the VCS website on the homepage to complete the New Student Information Form by clicking on the link provided below your school. New-to-VCS students entering VHS, BFMS, or TJMS will need to meet with a guidance counselor prior to registering. Appointment window selections are available on these schools' New Student Information Forms. Documents required to register your student: Transcript, birth certificate, immunization records, and proofs of residency.
● For proof of residency, please bring the following:
- Homeowner: Mortgage papers or tax receipt, utility bill, bill mailed to home, and driver’s license
- Renter: Lease agreement and lease end date, utility bill or pay stub, bill mailed to home, and driver’s license
- If you live in the home of another person and no rental or lease agreement exists you may request a Residency Verification Affidavit from the school.

Incoming Kindergarteners, 6th Graders, and 12th Graders
Please click here to access new requirements for vaccinations. School attendance will be denied until the requirements are completed. Please bring documentation for required vaccinations to your respective school prior to the first day of school.
