Valparaiso Community Schools will once again offer free meals for kids this summer as part of the annual Summer Food Service Program. The program offers free meals on weekdays to kids 18 and under.
Parents of children 18 and under can pre order a free daily meal kit with breakfast and lunch for curbside pickup at Thomas Jefferson Middle School located at 1600 Roosevelt Rd. in Valparaiso between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Students attending summer school will have access to free breakfast and free lunch daily in the cafeteria with no pre ordering required.
Meal kits will be available Monday through Friday from June 3 through June 25 and July 5 through July 23. No meals will be served the week of June 28 through July 2.
Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Valparaiso Community Schools, to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. Anyone age 18 and under is eligible for the meals.
