Wednesday, January 24, Aviva Valparaiso held a professional networking breakfast for businesses and individuals in the Valparaiso area. Those in the Valparaiso community have each other's backs. One of the ways they show that act of kindness is by having events like today’s, where breakfast is served and learning is the main focus of the agenda.
“We are always trying to reach out to the community and get them into our building and see how beautiful the inside of the building is, as well as our renovations and stuff that we have added on. We also want the community to be able to network with each other. We know how people change positions and this is just a good way for everybody to see each other again, network, pass out business cards, and find out what is going on in other businesses,” said Director of Sales at Aviva Valparaiso, Susan Burelli.
Aviva Valparaiso wants the best for the community, so they thought about the long-term situations that people may be in if they do not have the right assistance. That is where Capital Planning Group comes into play.
“Today we, as a group, are going to go over things like planning for the future, general financial planning, and other broad umbrella ideas because every one person has a different and unique situation. I am going to give them kind of generic ideas of what to look for, how to get started, different stages of life, and what you should be doing,” said Alex Ferreira, financial planner at Capital Planning Group.
The truth of the matter is that everyone has their own financial goals and the path they go on throughout their lifetime. There is not always help provided along the way which is why Aviva felt this networking breakfast was much needed.
“Some people might be planning for retirement, others might be planning to live in assisted living. Everybody has got different reasons. The goal is to help people with things like budgeting, financial planning, investing, saving, paying off debt, and things of that nature,” said Ferreira.
Everyone deals with their finances differently, but not everyone gets the opportunity to have that financial assistance as an option when planning their future. Today, those in attendance took full advantage of the opportunity that was in front of them.
“Getting the community together, feeding them breakfast before they go to work and networking is what today is all about,” said Burelli.
