Valparaiso University Law Clinic Accepting New Cases

Valparaiso-University-NightThe Law Clinic at Valparaiso University Law School, which provides free legal representation to individuals with limited income, is now accepting new cases.

The Law Clinic represents low-income residents of the region in matters such as debt collection defense, consumer issues, landlord/tenant disputes, guardianships, adoptions and tax concerns involving the Internal Revenue Service. Clients must meet income eligibility guidelines.

The Law Clinic's legal services are provided by Valparaiso University law students, who receive first-hand legal experience by representing financially disadvantaged clients. Students work under the supervision of law school faculty.

The Law Clinic is located in Heritage Hall at 510 Freeman Street (at the intersection of Freeman Street and College Avenue). For more information or to determine eligibility for assistance, call 219.465.7903.

Since 1965, the Valparaiso University Law Clinic has offered critical legal services to thousands of qualifying residents. Approximately 400 people received assistance during the past year.
