The Valparaiso University track & field program has announced its schedule for the 2024-25 indoor season.
The Beacons will begin the campaign with individuals at two separate competitions during the first full weekend of December. Some individuals will head to the Blue-Gold Invite hosted by Notre Dame on Dec. 6, while others will participate in Illinois State’s John Coughlan Invite in Normal, Ill. on Dec. 6-7.
The Blue-Gold Invite will be the first of three meets hosted by Notre Dame involving Valpo competitors in addition to the Notre Dame Invite (Jan. 25) and the Meyo Invitational (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). Valpo will also head to a pair of meets hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich. –the GVSU Big Meet (Feb. 14-15) and the GVSU Tune-Up (Feb. 21). The Beacons will once again partake in the Blue Demon Alumni Classic hosted by DePaul in Chicago on Feb. 8.
Valpo will co-host the MVC Indoor Track & Field Championships for the fourth consecutive year and the third straight year alongside UIC. The event will take place at Gately Park in Chicago on March 2-3.
The men’s track & field team scored 31 points at the 2024 MVC Outdoor Championships, the program’s highest total in a conference championship (indoor or outdoor) since joining the league. The Beacons had 32 all-time top five marks in track & field including nine program records while Micah Mullings (indoor long jump, indoor triple jump) and Ethan Litavecz. (outdoor javelin) earned All-MVC honors and podium finishes at the league championships.
