The Valparaiso High School boys cross country team won their Sectional Meet on October 11, 2011, earning the team the right to advance to Regionals this Saturday. Sectionals were held at Sunset Hill Farm, hosted by Chesterton.
Coach Prow said, "We are thrilled to be sectional champions and we did it without our top runner, Ahmad Aljobeh. We are proud of how well our all-sectional team did. Ari was second and Peyton was fourth, Landon did really well. It was a real team effort. We are happy to be champs and we are happy to be getting Ahmad back and we hope to do even better."
Valparaiso takes the win with 49 points followed by LaPorte 57, Chesterton 64, New Prairie 97, Portage 103, Wheeler 162, Washington Township 272, Westville 290, South Central 296. The top five schools from Sectionals will advance to Regionals.
Regionals will be held at New Prairie on Saturday Oct. 15. Racing starts at 10 a.m.
Placing in the top 15 were Ari Coulopoulos (2), Peyton Reed (4), and Landon Davison (8).

Coulpoulos said about the meet, "We were looking to keep everybody in there today. Today was all about the team. We got done what we needed to do and we won!"
