VHS Tennis Sweeps Michigan City

The Valparaiso High School Boys Varsity Tennis team increased their record to 6-1 (4-1 DAC) by sweeping the Michigan City Wolves 5-0 last night.

In singles play, Junior Marc Shideler defeated Paul Uminski 6-0, 6-2 in straight sets. Freshman Ben Kalisch defeated Sean Sobecky 6-0, 6-1, while Senior Nate Meyer took down Jared Christensen 6-0, 6-4.

The Vikings also swept in doubles play. Valpo’s team of Nate Johnson and Marty Pochop defeated Dan Davis and Reid Gast 6-1, 6-0, while Tyler Costas and Quinn Donnell beat out Brad Sebert and Josh Palmer 6-1, 6-2.

The JV team ended up 8-0 on the day against the Wolves also. Great job by the Valpo tennis squad!
