Viking Volleyball Teams Win Two of Three from LaPorte

The Valparaiso High School volleyball teams hosted the LaPorte High School Slicers on October 5, 2011, with two of the Vikings’ three teams emerging victorious over their Duneland Athletic Conference Opponent.

The varsity team was able to improve their record to an outstanding 24-2 on the season (11-1 DAC) by eking out a 5-game, 29-27, 22-25, 18-25, 25-17, 15-9, win over the Slicers, one of the few 5-game matches Valpo has played in all season.

The junior varsity team didn’t fare as well against the Slicers, falling 18-25, 24-25, bringing the Vikings to 19-6 (8-4 DAC) for the year.

The freshman team came away with a victory against LaPorte, winning 25-22, 25-6 to give the Vikings their seventh DAC victory in 2011 (18-7 record, 7-5 DAC).
