My friend Misty the race director for the Valpo 13.1 on Saturday needed some help so I decided to volunteer. Sometimes as a runner we forget the other side of the race. The volunteers, aid stations, water cups, awards, bathrooms and whatever else is needed to make a successful race. Being an RD myself it is a very stressful yet rewarding experience. I think Misty did a great job with over 500 coming out to run. Each runner should volunteer their time to experience the other side of race. I believe you have a greater understand of the effort that is needed to create a great event.
