Volunteers are sought to work side-by-side with staff in decorating the Barker Mansion for Christmas. Interested individuals are welcome to volunteer their time on November 5, 18 and 24 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Registration is not necessary to volunteer and interested parties need not commit to all three dates.
Upon arrival at 9:30 am on the designated dates, participants will be able to assist staff members in decorating the mansion to this year’s theme, “Songs of the Season”. Each room will portray a different Christmas carol, as chosen by staff. Lunch will be provided.
The Barker Mansion is located at 631 Washington Street in Michigan City, IN. The 38-room mansion was built by freight car industrialist and philanthropist John H. Barker in 1905. Mark your calendar for the Christmas Grand Opening on December 6 at 1 pm. Visit www.BarkerMansion.com for details.
