Westchester Museum to Receive Remodel

Westchester-Township-History-MuseumExciting changes are coming to the Westchester Township History museum! This fall, the museum will embark on a remodeling project to update the exhibit space in order to create a better visitor experience. The project will result in new displays, updated information, and a new look for the exhibit area.

Beginning September 3, 2013, the exhibit area of the museum will be closed to the public in preparation for construction, which is slated to begin the week of September 23. Museum activities will continue as planned through construction. The public is welcome to come in for house tours, to visit the store, to conduct research, and to attend scheduled programs. The second and third floors of the house as well as the old pump room will be blocked off to visitors, and refreshments will be moved into the dining room.

The exhibit area should reopen with new permanent and temporary displays in December. Watch for information about the reopening celebration.

Contact the museum at 983-9715 with any questions or concerns about activities in the museum during the remodeling project.
