Methodist Hospitals National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Event Information

2:18am - 2:18am

What: The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications

Who: The Drug Enforcement Administration and its national, tribal and community partners will hold the 18th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day across the country.  The service is free and anonymous.

  • Drop off any unused or expired medications.
  • Unused prescription drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved and abused or illegally sold.  Unused drugs that are flushed contaminate the water supply.  Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment.
  • For the first time, DEA will now accept vaping devices and cartridges at any of its drop off locations. The DEA cannot accept devices containing lithium ion batteries.  If batteries cannot be removed prior to drop-off, DEA encourages individuals to consult with stores that recycle lithium ion batteries

When: The event will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.
