Valpo Corn Roast Fest

Valpo Corn Roast Fest

Event Information

This event has expired.

The Fourth Annual Valpo Corn Roast Fest is almost here. It’s about the world-class music, it’s about the brats and fresh-roasted corn, but mostly it’s about supporting one of the most established community organizations in the area - the Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis – one of the ten largest Kiwanis groups in the world. The funds they raise from this event go straight back into the community.

Valparaiso Kiwanis is pulling out all the stops this year in their choice to bring a world-renowned band to the event. TUSK, is the ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute band. TUSK covers all of the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, which has featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood, Christine and John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and others over the years. Authentic-sounding and always respectful, TUSK leaves no stone unturned in replicating the sounds of one of the world’s best-loved, top-selling bands. Opening for TUSK, is the Midwest's Premier Yacht Rock Band-EZFM. Yacht rock means the mellow sounds of The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, and Hall & Oats just to name a few. Given the popularity of both of these bands, they are expecting close to 3,000 attendees.

And then there’s the food.  The $25 admission price ($30 the day of the event and free for kids 10 and under) includes a brat or hot dog, chips, and a soft drink or water plus all the locally-grown and fresh-roasted on-the-spot corn you can eat. Corn will be roasted twice as fast this year because the Valparaiso Kiwanis now has two corn roasters. If people are still hungry, some of the area’s finest food trucks will be on site as well. For adult beverages, there will be a beer & wine garden with a variety of options.

All net proceeds from the event go to the Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis to support Porter County youth via school youth groups and scholarships, women and family shelters, and many other types of organizations focused on youth. Plus, the members install residential handicap ramps for those in need.  Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis also helps support Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.

Valpo Corn Roast Fest takes place on Saturday, August 3rd from 5pm to 10pm. Tickets are available at the four Valparaiso 1st Source Bank locations or from any Valparaiso Kiwanian. Tickets can also be purchased on Eventbrite.
