You’re Not Alone Summit

Event Information

HAMMOND and WESTVILLE, Ind. – The public is invited to attend the You’re Not Alone Summit from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Purdue University Northwest (PNW) James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Center, 1401 S. U.S. 421, Westville. Participants will learn how they can help their community and family cope with drug abuse.

The free summit, hosted by the PNW College of Nursing, will focus on educating the community about substance abuse, addiction stigmas and available support resources. Featured activities include prevention and recovery workshops, a session on how to administer Narcan, addiction recovery resources, and a daylong Drug Takeback event.

The summit is sponsored by Indiana Campus Compact Faculty Fellowship, Lake County North Township Trustee Frank J. Mrvan, Never Alone Recovery, Keys to Freedom Foundation, Wynn Consulting Group, La Porte County Health Department, Gateway Foundation, Geminus Regional Health Systems, IN211, Munster Police Department, Recovery Works Merrillville, Franciscan Health, Regional Health Systems, United Way of Porter County, and the PNW College of Nursing.

Never Alone Recovery and Keys to Freedom

Never Alone Recovery and Keys to Freedom are dedicated to providing access to over 50 rehabilitation centers around the country, intervention services, family counseling, and ongoing recovery support. Keys to Freedom also offers a community addiction support group – designed to offer support and education to families that are battling the disease of addiction. Their goal is to improve access to treatment, lessen stigma associated with addiction, and help addicts/alcoholics find recovery – so families can find peace.
