On Saturday, May 27th, Hobart battled Hammond Central in the Sectional Semifinal hosted at Munster High. Hobart came out swinging, scoring 3 in the top of the first and adding 1 in the second inning. But Hammond would battle back scoring 2 of their own in the second, and one in the fourth. It was a 4-3 ballgame heading into the final inning, but the Brickies would break it open in the top half of the final frame. The 7-run 7th was sparked by Jevan Andrews’ bases-loaded triple.
Hobart advances to take on Lake Central in the sectional championship on Monday.
