Notre Dame Announces 2025 Football Schedule

Notre Dame Football has unveiled its 2025 regular-season schedule, featuring a competitive slate that spans the nation. The Fighting Irish will kick off the season on Sunday, Aug. 31, with a prime-time showdown against Miami at Hard Rock Stadium, before closing out the campaign on Nov. 29 at Stanford.

The schedule includes matchups against teams from the SEC, Big Ten, and ACC, along with a clash against 2024 College Football Playoff participant Boise State. Notre Dame will also compete for five rivalry trophies throughout the season, facing Purdue (Shillelagh Trophy), USC (Jeweled Shillelagh), Boston College (Frank Leahy Memorial Bowl), Navy (Naval Academy Trophy), and Stanford (Legends Trophy).

Notably, the Irish will open the season on the road for the fifth consecutive year, the longest streak in program history. Additionally, two first-time opponents—Arkansas and Boise State—will make their debuts on Notre Dame's schedule.

Opening on the Road: The Irish begin the season with a high-profile Sunday night matchup at Miami on ABC. This will be the 28th meeting between the two programs.
Home Opener vs. Texas A&M: Following an early bye week, Notre Dame welcomes Texas A&M on Sept. 13, completing a home-and-home series that began in 2024 with a 23-14 Irish victory in College Station.
Rivalry Renewed with Purdue: Notre Dame faces Purdue on Sept. 20, continuing a historic series that dates back to 1896. The Irish lead the all-time series 60-26-2, including a dominant 66-7 win in 2024.
First-Ever Matchups:
- Sept. 27 – Notre Dame visits Arkansas for the first time in program history.
- Oct. 4 – The Irish host Boise State in their first-ever meeting, boasting a 6-1 record in first-time matchups at Notre Dame Stadium since 2013.
USC Showdown: The annual rivalry game against USC is set for Oct. 18 in South Bend. The Irish hold a 7-2 edgeover the Trojans in the last nine meetings.
Second Bye Week: A timely break before the final stretch of five games.
Closing the Season:
- Nov. 1 – Notre Dame visits Boston College, continuing their rivalry series.
- Nov. 8 – The Irish return home for the annual clash with Navy.
- Nov. 15 – A road test at Pittsburgh.
- Nov. 22 – Final home game vs. Syracuse.
- Nov. 29 – The regular season concludes with the Legends Trophy matchup at Stanford.
