CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana’s Mike Cintron is coaching crews and inspiring growth

At CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana, Mike Cintron serves as more than just a field service manager — he brings heart, experience, and a genuine team-first attitude to every job site.
Since joining CertaPro in June, Cintron has embraced a role centered on connection and quality.
"I am a field superintendent," Cintron said. "I enjoy coaching the crews, checking in on them, and making sure their jobs run smoothly.”
For Cintron, the role of field supervisor allows him to bring years of experience and uniquely support his colleagues.
“If the team needs anything — materials, support with a customer — I handle that,” Cintron said.
Currently, Cintron also oversees warranty work and inspections, ensuring every project meets CertaPro's high standards. With 20 years in the painting industry, Cintron brings a depth of experience that helps him lead with both confidence and compassion. He started in the union through an apprenticeship program, then spent eight years with a large non-union commercial painting company as a foreman.
Throughout his career, he has remained passionate about mentoring the next generation of painters.
"I really enjoy passing on the knowledge I've learned," Cintron said.
Immediately after joining CertaPro, Cintron felt right at home.
"From the start, I was treated differently than at any other stop throughout my career,” Cintron said. “They seem to actually care about their people. I'm not just a number here.”
Cintron is especially drawn to one of CertaPro's core values: continuous improvement.
"That's something I carry deep in my life," Cintron said. "I always try to be better — whether that is personally, professionally, or any other aspect of my life.
Cintron believes it is this commitment to continuous improvement that has led him to where he is today.
“I appreciate that CertaPro understands you should always be striving for improvement,” Cintron said. “They've helped me with that in this new manager position."
The coaching culture at CertaPro has been a big part of that growth.
“They welcomed me with open arms,” Cintron said. “We have our standing meetings every week, and that's when I can ask anything and get the coaching I need."
Outside of work, Cintron focuses on his family and sports.
"I don't have kids of my own, but I really enjoy spending time with my sister and my nieces and nephews,” said Cintron. “I treat them like they're my own kids.”
Like many lifelong fans, he's deeply invested in Chicago sports.
"I'm too deep in. There's no getting out for me," Cintron said with a laugh.
With his commitment to people, passion for mentorship, and dedication to continual growth, Cintron is making a lasting impact at CertaPro — and enjoying the journey every step of the way.
