PEFV Golf Scramble

The Public Education Foundation of Valparaiso, Indiana Inc. (PEFV) is holding the annual 4-player golf scramble on June 17, 2009.  The scramble will be held at Aberdeen Golf Course with registration at 10:30am.  Shot gun start will be at 11:15am. Awards to follow at the golf course around 4:00pm.

The Valparaiso Community School system is well known for its commitment to excellence, and its responsibility to provide the types of experiences that will enable our students to become better leaders.

The PEFV is a 501 (c)(3) corporation formed to:

• secure funding, gifts, and bequests to support, promote, and advance educational opportunities for students of Valparaiso Community Schools;
• grant scholarships to help graduates of Valparaiso High School attain their higher education goals; and
• provide funds for the development and implementation of academic classroom projects.

The following three organizations operate under the umbrella of the Public Education Foundation of Valparaiso:

• Dollars for Scholars awards scholarships to VHS students to help defray expenses for education beyond high school and reward exceptional high school performance. These funds can often be matched by the college they attend.  To date, over 950 VHS students and received scholarships through this program.
• The Alumni Association has proudly joined with the PEFV to raise funds for scholarships awarded to VHS students.  The association will continue to maintain an accurate record of VHS alumni.
• C.L.A.S.P. (Creative Learning and Special Projects) will provide classroom grants for projects that promote student achievement, and encourage lifelong learning experiences.  All projects are required to show measurable results.  In the first year, over 3,100 students participated in the programs paid for from grants.

The 4-player golf scramble is limited to the first paid 36 foursomes (144 players).  There will be food, soft drinks, 50/50 raffle, special holes, door prizes, and of course, awards for the top golfers!
