2014 Earth Day Exhibitors Sought

NWI-Earth-DayThe Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County is accepting online registrations for exhibitors to participate in the 2014 Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration on April 19.

The largest free public environmental event in Northwest Indiana, the Earth Day Celebration draws visitors who are concerned about the environment and interested in learning more about how they can reduce their impact on the planet.

Exhibitors sought include organizations and businesses that can provide environmental awareness, services and products to attendees and inspire visitors to become more environmentally-conscious.

Prospective exhibitors can register to participate on the district’s website, www.ItMeansTheWorld.org.

Held in three buildings at the Porter County Expo Center in Valparaiso, the Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration attracted more than 3,200 attendees in 2013, the largest attendance in the event’s eight-year history. Early registrants will enjoy the maximum advertising benefits of the event.

Every year, our goal is to make this event better and attract more people who can take away something that they have learned to help the environment,” said Therese Davis, executive director of the district.

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to set up on Thursday, April 17. Exhibitors will also have the options of expanding their booths, connecting to electricity and advertising themselves on the bingo card given to all attendees.

The bingo card is a game for celebration attendees to win something big,” said Davis. “Last year, guests who participated in bingo had a chance to win two Schwinn bicycles. In order to enter the drawing, the attendees must visit all exhibitors listed on the card. It drives traffic to exhibits and was a real hit last year.

The district also seeks Earth Day event co-sponsors. For more information, call Donna, 219-465-3819.
