In celebration of 30 years, Family House of Porter County will host a Spirits Tasting fundraiser, 6 to 10 pm on June 16 at County Line Orchard, 200 S. County Line Road in Hobart. The event will feature wines, beers, and spirits to taste as well as purchase that evening at event-only prices, plus a live auction and raffle. “We’re excited to celebrate with the community at reaching a milestone of 30 years of service,” said Amy Hilzley-Pittman, Executive Director for Family House. “We hope the community will come out and share our anniversary as we raise funds toward a new roof. We literally hope to ‘raise the roof’ that evening,” she said.
Family House is a nonprofit organization which provides a safe, home-like environment where non-custodial parents can spend time with their children under supervision. The facility is located in Valparaiso, yet serves many families throughout Northwest Indiana. In fact, last year more than 600 families were served.
