PHS Football, Volleyball, Boys & Girls XC, Soccer All in Action this Weekend

phs-signYour Portage Indians came home with a win over the Michigan City Wolves Friday night 24-7.

JV won 35-7.

Boys’ soccer ended their regular season of play on Saturday with a 0-0 score against Culver. Sectional play begins on Wednesday a Portage faces Valpo at 5:00 PM at Valpo.
JV lost 3-0.

Varsity volleyball went 1 for 2 on Saturday at the Tinley Park Tournament.

The JV Lady Indians finished first place at the Lowell JV Tournament. They finished undefeated 4-0 and beat Crown Point in the championship game! Way to go ladies!!!

The girls cross country team placed second at the Duneland Conference meet on Saturday, missing first place by one point. The Indians placed 6 in the top 14 and had four All-DAC runners. Those four were, Rebecca Timm – 6th, Kyra Ball – 8th, Haley Orshonsky – 10th and Rhyan Sloan – 12th. Rounding out the varsity team were, Paige Pizer – 13th, Erin Reynolds – 14th and Mariah Blackwell – 25th. The JV team won the DAC JV race by placing 6 in the top 12. Those runners were, Stephanie Waters – 1st, Janee Escobedo – 3rd, Lucy Appelman – 5th, Keanna Crum – 7th, Delaney Barcelli – 9th and Autumn Brown – 12th. The team is off until October 15th when they compete in the IHSAA Sectional.

The portage boys cross country team placed 5th at the DAC championship while the JV was 2nd.
