Voting is Not Just a Right – It is a Responsibility!

terry-huffordAs we draw near to the November election, many things come to mind. The first thought I have is no more commercials to watch and hear. The second thought is trying to figure out who I should vote for on the ballot I receive November 6th. The third thought is how can only one fourth of all eligible voters decide that casting their vote is important?

I truly believe that voting is not just a right but also a responsibility of every American/ The time spent deciding on whom to vote for and the time it takes to vote is truly time well spent.

There is a local Chamber of Commerce pushing for an election rather than an appointment to decide who will govern their school corporation. I believe that everyone in some way enjoys having their voice heard in a crowd. What better way than with the power of the vote?

Thousands have given their life to preserve our way of freedom. Millions of people in this world wish they had the freedom to vote and hundreds of candidates around th country are working very hard to earn those votes.

We have a great opportunity this election to say who we want representing us at all levels of government. When you have a ballot that carries names running our school board, our city, our country, our state, and for the President of this country, no one can say it is not important to vote.

I know first hand the importance of a vote. I hope November 6th we all utilize the right and responsibility we have been given and vote.
